Autumn Orchard Outing

The Quinte Museum of Natural History is proud to present a new series of programs and workshops for lifelong learning under our Roots of Resilience banner. While these programs are aimed for older adults age 55+, they are open to everyone who would like to participate.

Join us on a splendid autumn group outing to Campbell’s Orchard!

Get ready to experience the world of apples from the experts at the orchard, including the history, biology and delicious culinary uses.

The ticket price of $25 +HST includes all activities for the day, including lunch (sandwich and a drink), and transportation to and from the Quinte Museum of Natural History. 

The day will begin with a guided tour of the museum, followed by a short bus ride to Campbell’s Orchard. There we will have a tour of the orchard on foot and by wagon ride, followed by lunch in the orchard with a chance to sample some apple cider. After lunch, participants will have a chance to shop at the market for harvested delights and baked goods, and to explore the grounds until it’s time for the bus to bring us back to the museum parking lot.

This event has limited seating available, will take place rain or shine, so please dress for the weather – please note we will be eating lunch outside as well. Participants will be able to park their vehicles in the parking lot of the museum at 99 Dufferin Ave as the bus will depart and return to the same location.

A note on accessibility: This outing will require some light walking and the ability to board and disembark a bus with stairs. The wagon ride at the orchard requires stepping up into an apple bin that has been fitted with a bench seat. It is not sitting on a hay wagon.
