Rescue Readers at the Humane Society Hastings Prince Edward

Do you have a young reader in your household who also loves animals? Join us at the Humane Society Hastings Prince Edward for a wonderful event supporting animals in need and helping kids read! On July 21st at 10:30am, we are encouraging families with kids 6+ to meet us at the Humane Society for a tour of their facilities, and a reading session where kids can read to some of the animals in their care. We encourage you to bring your favourite book or plushie along with you for your reading time, and get ready for lots of tail wagging!

The $5 per reader cost of booking a ticket for this excursion donates both to the Quinte Museum of Natural History and the Humane Society Hastings Prince Edward. All children must be accompanied by an adult for this experience (who do not have to pay to attend), and are encouraged to bring a few of their favourite books to read to the animals. Families will meet our museum staff at 10:30am on July 21st at the Humane Society Hastings Prince Edward located at 34 Wallbridge-Loyalist Road, Belleville, Ontario. If you want to bring a donation off of the Humane Society’s wishlist as well, we will be collecting those in the museum if you want to drop it off before the day of the event.
