Diving Deep:
A Tale of Whales Through Time

Did you know that whales used to have legs? This part of the exhibit focused on learning about the mysterious anatomy of ancient whale ancestors and how they evolved into the modern ocean giants we know today. The ancient whales exhibit has been modified and is still available to view in the current museum.

Modern whale species are as complex and unique as they are impressive. Their anatomy, behaviour, and habits are deeply fascinating. Featuring both cast and real specimens, this section of the exhibit is sure to make a splash. This section of the whale exhibit included two real whale skeletons loaned from The Royal Ontario Museum.

We can’t tell the story of whales without acknowledging the many threats that they face today. Come learn about how our changing oceans impact whales and what is being done to help secure the future of the species. This section of the exhibit focused on marine conservation and how human activity has affected whales and our oceans, and what we can do to help.
